​Holotropic Breathwork®: The Details

​Holotropic Breathwork® is a powerful method of self-enquiry and personal empowerment that is based on our innate Inner Wisdom. It is a powerful experiential process that allows deep self-exploration and healing.

The name Holotropic means literally "moving toward wholeness" (from the Greek "holos"=whole and "trepein"=moving in the direction of something)  The breathwork practice combines accelerated breathing with evocative music in a supported setting. With the eyes closed and lying on a mat, each person uses their own breath and the music in the room to enter a non-ordinary state of consciousness. This state activates the natural inner healing process of the breather’s psyche which guides the experience which can encompass unique experiences that may reveal aspects of our personal history or birth, energy moving in our bodies, adventures in transpersonal realms, or intuitive insights.

Contraindications:  This work may be physically or emotionally challenging. It is not appropriate for pregnant women or for people with heart disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, acute infectious illness, recent surgery or fractures, or severe mental illness.
